Welcome to British Rowing Championships. May
2012 We do hope that clubs,
coaches and competitors are already working towards the 40th
Anniversary British Rowing Championships which will be held at
Nottingham on 13th to 15th
July 2012. To that end, we are issuing
this final statement about which events will be offered. All relevant information relating to prices, order of finals, spacing
of races etc will follow as soon as possible. The events we plan to offer
are set out in the attached table. Please note: 1.
All the events coloured in
grey will be offered in July 2012. 2.
The Senior events coloured
in yellow will NOT be offered in July, instead
featuring in the separate Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships in October 2012. 3.
Responding to Junior
Commission feedback, there will be no J17 events in 2012. 4.
In 2012 no crew will
be eliminated after only a time trial. As in
previous years, events attracting an entry of 25 crews or more will
start with a time trial. The fastest crews will go through to 2
semi-finals and the fastest 3 from each semi-final will race the
final. In 2012, this will be designated the “A”
final. The remaining 3 crews from each semi-final will race a
“B” final. Crews 13 to 18 from the time trial will race a “C”
final, and so on, until every crew in the event has a ranking. a. as each of these new races
is a final, all crews which have raced in the time trials will be
expected to complete all the races offered in that event, except in the
case of medical problems. b. This race pattern will apply to all events – Junior, Lightweight, Under 23 and Senior – which attract 25 or more crews. |
