What's different about the championships in Scotland?

The format of the regatta remains exactly the same as always.  In the last few years we have modified the timetable so most events take place over two days, but there are still a few that require three days. The layout of the course, however,  makes for a few differences:

lanes - the Strathclyde Park course has 8 lanes.  The Championships only uses 6 lanes, so races this year will take place in lanes 3 to 8.

practising - there is room to practise on the loch while racing is in progress.  More information can be found in the Notice of Regatta.

badges - because the Country park is a public area, Competitors' Badges are not required for access.  Badges will still be provided to competitors, but not to coaches or anyone else.

boat hire - to make it easier for crews travelling longer distances, Scottish Rowing are offering boat hire.  Contact: governance (at) scottish-rowing.org.uk  as soon as possible.
Hire will normally be for 60 minute sessions.  To make a booking please download this linked form and send it by e-mail to the address it states.

training camps - clubs wishing to hold training camps at Strathclyde before the regatta will be welcomed - they should also contact John Blair, and preferential boat hire rates may be arranged.

Event Scotland

The 2010 Championships is grateful to
Event Scotland and to our hosts North Lanarkshire Council for making the visit to Strathclyde possible.
